Clutch Spring Retaining Plates - Sherco 2017>2022, Scorpa 2017>2022
Clutch spring retaining plate, used to hold the spring in place.
There are 2 versions of this plate which alter the preload on the spring, the original was 2.00mm from where the spring sits to the face that clamps against the inner hub. The original provided a little too much preload on the spring which is great for the Pro riders but this makes the clutch pull a bit on the heavy side for clubman riders so they now make 2 options both with less preload:
Soft (stamped 3 on the outer face) 0.30mm less preload, this measures 2.30mm from where the spring sits to the face that clamps against the inner hub.
Softest (stamped 4 on the outer face) 0.40mm less preload, this measures 2.40mm from where the spring sits to the face that clamps against the inner hub.
From roughly January 2017 Sherco started fitting some of these lower preload spring retaining plates as standard, so if you wish to soften or firm up your lever pull please measure the plate in your bike already before selecting a replacement.
Sherco used to make a even softer version with 0.6mm less preload, they said it was only suitable for the 125cc bikes, this is because the 125 bikes have a lot less torque so you might find fitting this version to a larger cc bike might allow the clutch to slip.
Fits the new diaphragm clutch found on the Sherco 2017 to 2022 and the Scorpa 2017 to 2022.
