18" Tubeless Tyre Beader
This 18" tyre seat beader is designed to make the process of fitting and inflating tubeless tyres quick and hassle-free. It works by temporarily filling the gap between the tyre and the rim, allowing air to build pressure and create a secure seal. As the tyre seats properly onto the rim, the beader naturally pops out without the need for manual removal.
Perfect for use in the workshop or out in the field, this tool is especially useful when a compressor isn’t available. It’s one of the most effective methods for mounting tubeless rear tyres on trials, enduro, or off-road bikes without relying on high-pressure air sources.
Whether you're changing tyres at home or during a competition, this beader makes the job of fitting and sealing tubeless tyres faster, easier, and more reliable.
Sometimes branded as RQF, Apico or Jitsie, RQF is the original manufacturer.
Step by step guide:
- Mount your tyre on the wheel in the normal way, apply tyre soap to the tyre and rim, remove the valve core.
- Liberally brush tyre soap on one side of the tyre.
- Feed the beader into this side between the tyre and rim.
- Ease the beader into the gap with both hands. It will easily stretch to drop into position.
- Continue until the last few inches and push the last bit in if necessary.
- Seat beader evenly around the rim, not in the well. Use more tyre soap if necessary.
- Slowly inflate tyre and beader will pop out halfway
- Continue inflating steadily, easing the beader out if necessary
- When approx 6" left in, remove the beader before it's squashed and inflate until the bead pops out. Refit valve core.
