The main advantage will probably be for the very best riders who are dropping the clutch at big steps, it has 8 springs instead of 6 so it has a lot more bite allowing you to put more power down to the ground.
It also removes the rubber cushions which gives the clutch a much more direct and responsive action, a down side of this is it makes the clutch gears more noisy.
Because the clutch is designed to be ridden hard the basket, inner hub and the outer pressure plate are all strengthened to take the extra forces. This is really good for the top riders who have to replace the standard items frequently due to the basket and inner hub becoming grooved where the plates rub.
Finally because the clutch is all very nicely CNC machined and hard anodised on the surfaces that parts of the clutch slide against each other, you get a very smooth hard wearing surface so the clutch is smoother and will stay that way for a long time.
Installation
The hardest part is removing the old basket see our clutch basket fitting guide for details.
You also have to watch out for the backing plate catching on the kickstart gear but hopefully this has been sorted now.
You must also remove the springs and ball bearings from behind the backing plate as it is possible that these can fall out when the CSP clutch is fitted.
