To test the coil unit measure the primary winding resistance @ 20 °C (68 °F) with a muilti meter, it should read between 0.255 … 0.275 Ω
Replace the coil if it is out of spec, some muiltmeters have a internal resistance within the test lead wires and the meter itself so check the resistance with the test leads held together and minus that off the reading from the coil.
