Keihin PWK 28 Customised to your specifications - Left Idle
As low as £194.95
In stock
Keihin PWK 28 Carburetor, as used on most of the works trials bikes. The half flat D slide Carburettor gives a smoother more responsive bottom end and improved mid range, while the larger bore allows the engine to breath more freely giving a large boost to the top end of the rev range.
Equivalent to Sherco Part number 1123.
The carb comes supplied from Keihin with a 125 main jet, 45 pilot, 3.5 slide, JJH needle on the 3rd clip down so it gives a good starting point for most modern trials bikes.
Fitting recommendations for the Sherco trials bikes:
2012 to 2013
As the 290 and 305 come with the 28mm carbs as standard no changes are required, the 250 and 125 models require the larger PWK inlet manifold fitting.
2011
As the 290 comes with the VHST 28mm carb as standard no changes are required, the 250 and 125 models require this larger VHST inlet manifold fitting. You can also fit the newer 2012 on manifold to put the carb at a better angle but this also requires the new airbox to be fitted at the same time.
2010
The airbox side fits straight on to the back of the carb but the inlet side is a very tight fit so may require a little persuasion, it can be just simply chamfered to allow easier fitting, then when the carb is inserted it stretches the rubber so the internal diameter matches the diameter of the carb giving a smoother flow path. The Keihin manifold is just the standard one with a bit roughly cut out to allow easier fitting of the carb, this leaves a step from 28mm to 26mm in the flow path.
1999 to 2009
The PWK will with a bit of persuasion fit into the original rubber manifolds but it does stretch them which may lead to premature failure of the rubber, the airbox manifold is the worst affected so it is highly recommended to purchase this Keihin airbox manifold, the inlet manifold between the carb and the reed valve can be just simply chamfered to allow easier fitting, then when the carb is inserted it stretches the rubber so the internal diameter matches the diameter of the carb giving a smoother flow path. The Keihin manifold is just the standard one with a bit roughly cut out to allow easier fitting of the carb, this leaves a step from 28mm to 26mm in the flow path.
Fitting recommendations for the GASGAS Pro trials bikes:
The Keihin PWK 28 will fit, with a bit persuasion, straight into the standard rubber inlet manifold on the GasGas Pro's but GasGas recommend and use the Raga reed block and inlet assembly for fitting the Keihin carburettor as it fits a lot easier due to the larger rubber inlet, they also put the carb at a better angle and don't restrict the air flow like the standard manifold so you'll get even more power.
