The 9 tooth came standard on the 125.
The 10 tooth came standard on the 200.
The 11 tooth came standard on the 250, 280 and the 300.
Going up 1 tooth at the front is equivalent to going up 4 teeth at the back or like making 1st gear into 2nd gear.
Some people up gear their bikes for events like the SSDT so they can go faster on the road.
Beginners may find it helpful to down gear their bikes so they go slower, for example it makes tight turns easier.
