Tech Forks

Tech forks, currently the best performing forks available.

Designed and developed on the sections of the trials World championships. Its low friction anodised aluminium stanchion tubes, combined with progressive rate springs, spring preload, hydraulic compression, rebound and bottom out adjustments, provide an exceptionally smooth, progressive ride.

  • High strength forged and anodised aluminium lower legs available in Silver, Gold or Black coloured finish.
  • Hard anodised aluminium stanchion tubes available in Olive, Black or Kashima finish.
  • Completely customisable fork
  • High quality oil for consistent performance and longevity
  • Low friction sliding bushings
  • Specially designed seals for use in extreme conditions
  • Aditional springs available to suit different rider weights
  • Stroke/Travel 165mm (roughly 6.5")
  • Weight: SL Pro 3.95kg,  Aluminium 4.35 kg,  Steel 5.2kg
  • Length 747mm (roughly 29.5")

Racing Pro SL "Superlight" Kashima - Black / Kashima

This premium fork is the very top of the range, designed for high level competition where it is the best performing fork with special Kashima® treatment, three hydraulic adjustments, maximum lightness and resistance. The Ø39mm stanchions in hard anodized aluminum with black Tech logo make it precise and in harmony with all the trial frames, the lightest at only 3.95kgs!

  • Forged and CNC-machined aluminum outer tubes: redesigned for minimal weight and maximum strength.
  • Refined 39mm stanchions: engineered for optimal performance while shaving off extra grams.
  • New lightweight springs made from high-tensile steel: requires less material, reducing weight without sacrificing performance.
  • Special Kashima® treatment for super low friction / stiction and it significantly improves the wear resistance.
  • Externally adjustable compression, rebound and Hydro stop hydraulic damping

Racing Pro Kashima - Black / Kashima

Designed for high level competition where it is the best performing fork with special Kashima® treatment, three hydraulic adjustments. The Ø39mm stanchions in hard anodized aluminum with black Tech logo make it precise and in harmony with all the trial frames, weighing only 4.35kg.

  • Special Kashima® treatment for super low friction / stiction and it significantly improves the wear resistance.
  • Externally adjustable compression, rebound and Hydro stop hydraulic damping

Racing Pro Aluminium - Gold / Black

The same high performance externally adjustable compression, rebound and Hydro stop hydraulic damping as found on the Racing Pro Kashima

  • High strength Forged lower legs in a striking Gold anodised colour
  • Black coloured hard anodised aluminum stanchions with the Tech logo

Racing Aluminium - Silver / Olive

  • High strength Forged lower legs in a natural silver anodised colour
  • Olive coloured hard anodized aluminum stanchions
  • Externally adjustable rebound and Hydro stop hydraulic damping
  • Compression damping adjuster can be retro fitted

Steel - Black / Silver

  • Stronger steel stanchions
  • Lower stiction
  • Cast lower legs (not as strong as the forged)
  • Heavier - 5.2kg

Fork adjustments:

Spring Preload / Ride height adjuster is adjusted externally with an allen key on the top of the left hand fork leg. The adjuster allows you to alter the spring preload by 10mm, the more you wind the adjuster clockwise the more preload you will get and therefore it will lift the ride height and lower the rider sag. We recommend adjusting the preload to achieve a rider sag of around 45 to 50mm from fully extended.

Preload adjuster

Rebound Damping, this is adjusted externally with a flat screwdriver on the top of the right hand leg. The adjuster opens and closes a small needle valve which bypasses the rebound piston shim stack, giving you precise control over the slow speed rebound damping, i.e. how fast the fork returns. The adjust setting is a very personal setting and can also vary with the temperature, the spring preload and from fork to fork due to manufacturing tolerances, so as a rough guide it should be set between 18 and 25 clicks out from fully in. (P.S. the aluminium forks have Red top caps and the steel forks come with gold top caps)

Rebound Adjuster

The bottom out adjuster or hydrostop, it's is adjusted with a tiny 2mm allen key in the red part in the center of the Gold lower bolt on the spring side fork leg (left or disc side). This setting only affects the last 45 mm of the stroke. Usually, the regulator is kept in a fully closed position. If the rider is light and unable to reach the end stroke, the regulator can be turned anti-clockwise.

Bottom out adjuster

The Compression Adjuster is only fitted to some of the higher spec forks, it can be found in the bottom of the right hand fork leg, the adjustment is made with a small 2mm allen key in the centre of the Red coloured bolt (its Red coloured on both steel and aluminium version where fitted). The adjuster controls the compression damping by a small needle bleed valve which bypasses the main compression piston shim stack. Winding the adjuster clockwise increases the compression damping making the fork slower to compress, this gives a firmer ride and can be good for heavier riders as they can increase the compression damping to stop the fork diving through it travel too quickly. Likewise winding the adjuster anticlockwise decreases the compression damping, this makes the fork more supple and can be good for lighter riders to make their forks feel softer.

Compression adjustment

The Tech suspension compression damping adjuster is available to buy as a separate item and it can be retro fitted to any of the Tech Suspension trials forks that came without this adjuster.

The Kashima coating has a lower static and kinetic coefficient of friction than the normal hard anodised aluminium stanchions. Kashima is the trade name for a hard anodised aluminium with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2 or just Moly for short), moly is a solid used in oils and greases as an extreme pressure additive/lubricant to prevent wear when the oil film fails, so it very good lubricator.
